HY-UTM-S Asphalt Mixture Dynamic Modulus Tester

The HY-UTM-S is a measuring instrument primarily used to measure the dynamic modulus and phase angle of asphalt mixtures. The dynamic modulus is a performance-related characteristic used for mixture evaluation and characterizing the stiffness of asphalt mixtures. The phase angle is an important indicator of the viscoelasticity of materials, serving as a basis for empirical pavement design.

Actual pavements experience dynamically changing loads during vehicle traffic. Dynamic modulus testing can simulate this dynamic stress condition, obtaining the mechanical response of materials under real stress states, thus reflecting the actual performance of asphalt mixtures more accurately than static testing.

Controller module

  • The controller module, comprising the data acquisition system and control software, is the brain of the entire system. Its stable data acquisition, fully compliant data algorithms, and user-friendly human-machine interface form the control center of the entire system.
  • The 4-axis/13-channel control system can simultaneously control 4 actuators and acquire data from 13 sensors.
  • 16-bit AD conversion accuracy, combined with 8x oversampling technology, ensures high and stable data acquisition accuracy.
  • All test results are automatically calculated, eliminating the need for manual calculation by the user.
  • The fixture is equipped with a multi-frequency radar transceiver chip, featuring automatic fixture identification to prevent test failures caused by software and fixture incompatibility.
  • It supports multiple control modes, including stress, strain, and load holding, with automatic switching, suitable for dynamic or static tests.
  • The dynamic control frequency reaches up to 25Hz, supporting custom waveform outputs such as sine waves, square waves, and triangle waves.

Software Interface

  • Automatic Frequency Switching: The software automatically switches frequencies during the test according to a preset frequency sequence.
  • Strain Closed-Loop Control: Based on the actual strain value feedback, the software automatically adjusts the loading pressure amplitude to ensure that the specimen strain remains stable within the set target range.
  • Automatic Result Calculation: After the test, the software automatically calculates and outputs key performance parameters such as dynamic modulus, phase angle, and load standard deviation.
